Day 1: Marrakech – Ouarzazate
Morning departure from Marrakech to Ouarzazate via the High Atlas Mountains along the Tizi N ‘Tichka, the highest mountain pass in North Africa at 2260 meters above sea level. Stop in a small town on the way for lunch before continuing to Ouarzazate. Head to your hotel for check-in and dinner. Overnight: Hotel in Ouarzazate.
Day 2: Ouarzazate – Zagora – M’hamid
Have breakfast at your hotel before taking a day trip to Zagora, a town in the Draa Valley. For centuries, this valley served as a link between the Sahara and northern Morocco for the caravan routes. Sit back and enjoy the view of the drive-through beautiful small Moroccan towns and Berber villages along the valley, including Agdz and Zagora. Arriving at M’hamid in the evening, enjoy a trip to a Berber campsite. Take a camel ride at sunset and before dinner, spend the night in traditional tents for a true desert experience. Day 3: M’hmid – Zagora – Marrakech
Get up and shine for an early breakfast before heading to the giant dunes of Erg Lihoudi to watch the sunrise in the Sahara Desert. Located near the oasis town of M’hamid desert, the dunes of Erg Lihoudi, 100 meters long, are incredible, especially at dawn. After you visit the sand dunes, it is time to return to Marrakech, via the city of taznakht Stop at Ouarzazate for lunch, a guided tour of Atlas Studios, before returning to your hotel in Marrakech around 20h.
